En's Holiday Program This Jun -- Chinese Drama Camp : Jun-13

I cannot remember if Soka Kindergarten has offered this program in the last two years, but the enrolment form of this Chinese Drama Camp came at the right time when I was wondering if I should do something to hype En's interest in Chinese!  Thus despite the rather costly fee of $220 for a 3-hourly class for 5 days, I made up my mind to put En through it.  To do this, I have to bring En back to SK on weekdays for the entire third week of the hols.

Fortunately En enjoyed the class and reported daily that she did artwork and dancing in class that morning.  I also gathered that she would be a yellow flower and have two lines and two dances in the performance.. (^_^)

On the last day of her class, which was a Friday, all parents were invited to attend their performance that morning.  As Victor was also on leave the entire week, the whole family went to support En!

Room transformation : Jun-13

Before En'en was born, we did a renovation in the girl's room and also brought a double deck bed with a pull out deck, hoping one day En'en would join her sisters in the room.  That wishful dream did not materialize.  En'en slept with us for 6 straight years in our room. Qiqi did not like the idea of sleeping in the upper deck either, always complaining that it was too warm.  As our En'en grew in size, it became more and more difficult to have a proper rest at night.  She would kick away our blanket or simply push or kick me out of my bed!  I decided it was probably time to take some action to influence En'en to shift out of our room as well as for Qiqi and XuanXuan to welcome their sister into their room without compromising their nightly rest.

A project was triggered last year together with the girls to renovate their rooms again, this time, with their ideas adopted to inject some passion into them.  The brain-storming went quite well and they were anticipating a transformation to their "more-than-6-years" room.

Everything was planned to happen this June; a new ceiling fan was bought, the power cables were re-arranged, three single beds and paints were also purchased.  We were ready for the action... This started off with the massive packing of the room to prepare for the painting and the beds.  Then, the old bed was dismantled before we asked for the ceiling fan to be mounted.  Following was a whole day of painting the room and all our room doors.  A few days later, the new beds finally arrived and the project was wrapped up after the girls packed their stuff into their storage beds.
Among the three, En'en was the most excited one, mainly because she was the one who contributed the least labor but got to enjoy the fruit.  Her excitement cannot be concealed! On the very first night, she insisted to sleep as early as she could... something that only happens once in a very blue moon!! (^_-)

Ally Gangnam Style :Jun-13

Ally could probably made it to the Guinness Book as the youngest Gangnam Style dancer and thanks to her 'evil' parents; holding the hands (Daddy) and holding the legs (Mummy).

Extreme Art Fun : Jun-13

Within the family, we possess a good amount of Arts and Fun DNA... I enjoy drawing as much as Xuan and Enen and as a family we always enjoy a good sense of humor.  However, when these two factors are combined in the wrong way, it may creates things in the extreme.  See below and you will know what I mean.

I sent the finished 'product' to the family over whatsapp... immediately QQ called Shin Yang and asked her whose finger got cut so badly... After clearing the air, QQ also requests to opt out next time due to weak heart... Oppsss... :-)

Skyway Trip : Jun-13

The family woke up early on the Saturday to send Papa and Mama to the airport, for their "silk route" holidays in China.  They had joined a celebrity tour for a good 10-days holidays along with 6 other friends.  After having our breakfast with them, we also managed to bump into the celebrity and took a picture together with 陈大哥.
After sending them off to the departure hall, we headed straight to the 'Garden by the Bay'.  This time, to finish our trip to the OCBC Skyway which we did not venture the last time. There was a little haze in the sky, but not bad enough to stop us.  Being the first few 'tourists', we also enjoyed the luxury to freely take pictures without having many other people in the background.  Many nice photographs taken indeed, one of which I used for my facebook profile!

Our Babies : Jun-13

Having seen Ally inspired me to create this video for our babies.

Had been 15 years since we had our first baby, and thinking back, there was also a leap change of analog camera to digital technology.  I remembered those days which I needed to cautiously snap every photo and this also explained why Xuan Xuan did not have as much photos when she was born compared to Qiqi (with the first generation Sony digital camera) and En'en (with Digital SLR).

Watching the video brought back much memories, amazing to see how each individual life started so small in the beginning.

Printed My Car Decals At Last : Jun-13

Since at least 5 years ago, I have been thinking of printing a car decal with words consisting of Nam-myoho-renge-kyo.  This thought came about whilst travelling on the road, I often see many cars with car decals professing "Jesus loves me" or "南无阿弥陀佛".

Maybe I am juz plain jealous; I also want a car sticker telling the road-users next to my car the existence of Nam-myoho-renge-kyo.  Much as I have been observing and asking around, such a thing does not exist.  I have to print my own.

I recalled asking for quote for printing of car decals and vaguely remembered the unit price came out to be rather exorbitant, hence I did not pursue.  This year as I was squeezing brain juice for my WD formation day, the idea of giving out car decals as souvenir came up.  I mean, it would not be as much fun if my car is the only one in the entire Singapore to have such a car decal, isn't it?  Having more cars going around with stickers of Nam-myoho-renge-kyo would surely create a teeny weeny more awareness of this Mystic Law, right?

Very quickly, I have to come up with something to print as well as find a printer who would deliver my car decals in less than two weeks.  The Buddhist gods must be helping because from googling for local car sticker printers which were mainly from car sites, I was quickly guided to look for printers more suitable for my budget and who can help me with what I want within my rather tight time frame too.

So here you are, our very own car decal with Nam-myoho-renge-kyo!!

Our present society is riddled with all kinds of sickness, be it physical, mental, social or whatever.  Nam-myoho-renge-kyo will be able to help us overcome the suffering of all these sickness, regardless of one's background.  Everyone should at least know of this and test it out for themselves!

Well, if you like what you see in this car decal and would also like to display it on your car, please PM us and we would gladly send one to you! (^_^)

Enen's First Permanent Tooth : Jun-13

En's mouth of teeth !!
Among the three girls, En was the only who had teeth on her 1st birthday.  En is also the earliest to have her first permanent tooth, well before entering primary 1!

In fact, Qi only visited the school dentist in primary 2 to extract her front milk tooth because her permanent tooth already came out; brave girl!!  Her milk tooth was still so firmly on the gum that the nurse had to inject anesthesia to pull it out.  Xuan's front milk tooth was also shaky in primary 1.  She too, went to the school dentist by herself; brave girl!!  By the time the nurse looked at her tooth, it was so shaky that she juz had to tweak it off!!
Pic with speech bubbles posted on FB
En's first permanent tooth appeared juz before she turned six.  I was pleasantly surprised when she suddenly told me she had something behind her teeth.  It turned out to be a new tooth!!  Don't know why, but I got very excited and fished out the camera to take pictures of her teeth!!  I was very glad too, to see that the baby tooth in front was rather shaky.

After I posted this picture on FB, a few friends advised En to keep pushing her shaky tooth with the tongue to get it to fall off more quickly.  Almost a week passed but that trick did not help.  I finally made a dental appointment for En.
En on the big dentist chair !
This Dr Koh looked after Victor's teeth since he was pretty young.  She extracted and filled most of Victor's teeth, which he subsequently discovered that somehow, her skills was not good and some of his teeth got damaged.  I brought En to her anyway as she was the nearest dentist and I thought En's case was a straightforward and simple one requiring juz a shaky tooth extraction.

En showin off her tooth with gauze in mouth

Dr Koh examined En's teeth and discovered at least three in-between-teeth cavities which needed filling!!  That makes at least six decayed teeth!!  Anyway, those were not urgent and En should not be traumatized by her very first dental visit.  So only her shaky tooth was removed after a jab to numb the pain.  I think she enjoyed pressing the gauze on her gum hole after the extraction!
En showing off her 'lobang' !!
