Enen's Papaya Tree by 公公 : Oct-11

Their 公公 definitely has green fingers, and ever since Qiqi's time when we shifted over two papaya plants that outgrew our pots, Papa has also started to take care of our trees as well as grow new ones. He named them as Qiqi's papaya tree, Xuanxuan's papaya tree, and Enen's papaya tree.

This most recent Enen's papaya tree has been doing Papa very proud with its big luscious leaves and big fruits. This tree certainly looked very cute and healthy with big fruits for such a short tree! We can't wait for the papayas to ripen.. hope it's as sweet as it looks!! (^_^)

BFF SAHM Sharon's Birthday : Oct-11

Always a most hospitable host with even Ya Kun kopi and kopi-o for us, of course we must at least cut a cake and sing her a birthday song for her birthday, right?

So on this PSLE-marking-day school holiday, mothers and children had a brief impromptu gathering where we made noise, had fun, sang song, blow candle, ate cake, had some more fun and disappeared; almost flash mob style.

Hello kitty plushy and pink pencil case were Enen's presents for Aunty Sharon. After knowing that we would be going to Aunty Sharon's place because it was her birthday that day, Enen found these gifts specially for Aunty Sharon. To be honest, I was very surprised and a lil' embarrassed too.. Surprised at Enen's sweet gesture and embarrassed at my lack of a gift for the birthday girl other than the cake.

Alcohol from Huili was Isaac's idea as he recalled Aunty Sharon to be "very happy after drinking" and he wanted Aunty Sharon to be very happy on her birthday!! (^_^)

Children's Day Party : Oct-11

After slogging it out in daimoku with all the PSLE mummies in that intense PSLE week, Sharon was the first to propose a children's party on the weekend immediately after the PSLE, which also happened to be Children's Day. To reward the hardworking mummies and kiddos, Nancy's uncle Beng Hui offered to hold a BBQ at his place, and all of us were to prepare some food to share. Though that being said, Nancy was doing marketing and cooking and cooking from early that morning. Beng Hui also prepared his trademark dish of clams in white wine for us!

Nancy was very kind to me and suggested that I prepared what I do best - fruit salad, and even shared an interesting watermelon recipe. Armed with that verbal recipe, I went to buy the heaviest watermelon I ever bought from Alice; it weighed at more than 7kg!

After googling and consulting YouTube, I managed to decently dissect and emptied the contents in the watermelon fruit. With Xuanxuan's and a lil' of Enen's help and Victor's touch up, the end result was pretty impressive!

Although it was raining and we could not barbeque our food, the children had much fun playing with one another and watching tv in the house while the auntys and uncles yak and eat and yak and eat basking in one another's company! (^_^)

Hong's Play 阿Q 后专 : Sep-11

Hong took part in a mandarin 8-member-cast play which was running for almost two weeks. Qi, Xuan, Victor and I watched the second last show on a saturday night. The cast in this more-than-two-hour play were all multi-talented, including our dear ah Hong. Hong's enunciation was much improved in this play.. possibly because of a very outstanding member of the cast from China. Hong was not only acting, but dancing, 'singing' and even playing the suo-na in the show! Hopefully the Hong Kong director is successful in bringing this show to Hong Kong and even China.. (^_^) So worrisome.. while Jiun was so afraid that Hong would forget his lines, the rest of us enjoyed the show thoroughly! Victor even lamented that if we had watched it earlier in its run, he would surely recommend and ask all his colleagues to come watch it too! Hong was the guy squatting on the right side of the pole, attacking his bowl of rice vehemently for more than 20 minutes before the show proper began. Saw this gigantic Doraemon at Iluma and could not resist not taking a picture with it!

BFF SAHM Huili's Birthday : Sep-11

Ever since En enters Soka Kindergarten, I have been trying to chant more daimoku as I wait in TSC for her school dismissal. Much as my time is willing, many a times my spirit and stamina are waning and lacking. Hence when Sharon and Huili invited me to join in the pre-PSLE daimoku chanting at their places, they don't have to ask a second time! We always have a most enjoyable time chanting and chatting and chanting and chatting.. and time is long enough to complete all we want to chant and chat.. This would be one of those moments I want to freeze in time. Huili's birthday happened to fall on one of those days, and we gave dear Huili a surprise! (^_^)

Qiqi sprained her ankle : Sep-11

While doing a back flip during the gym lesson a few weeks ago, Qiqi accidentally sprained her left ankle.  I supposed such things will happen some point in our life.

Fortunately Qiqi did not hurt her ankle badly, in fact, she managed to recover speedily within a week.  Posting these photos for her to remember...

GSK Dinner and Dance : Sep-11

This year GSK held its Dinner and Dance earlier in the year, September, to coincide with the MD's retirement. The committee chose a theme "Back to School" and interestingly, Shin Yang's size is now similar to Qiqi's and so, she conveniently wore Qiqi's school uniform to the event. Qiqi also offered her two badges, "Monitor" and "Vice Chairman", for us to dress up... Till now, I am still pretty amused by her egoism when she remarked as she passed us the badges, "I am very successful hor?"

The event was held at Resort World and a specific background prop attracted us to take a photo to 'provoke' Qiqi. The prop indicated "A* Student"... If you wonder why, the story goes like this, many many years ago, Victor and Shin Yang both achieved an A* each in their PSLE, and here's the question, "Do you think Qiqi had an A* in her PSLE?" Yes/No?

Qiqi first iMovie Project : Sep-11

During the 3rd term holidays, Qiqi and team were supposed to produce a history project on the religion of Melaka. So she took my camera and filmed several videos from Asian Civilization Museum and instinctively produced her first iMovie project.

Kids in One-Eyed Turtle Gosho : Sep-11

It has been a while since our gals contribute in our district meeting. The last time is probably in 2006 where Qiqi and Xuan put up a Frog Dance for the family day. In August district meeting, I am sharing the One-Eyed Turtle Gosho, and with material from the Sunshine Aunties, we seek help from the gals to put up a skit. So, En'en participated in her first Kosen-Rufu activity as the main character in the Gosho! The One-Eyed Turtle!

Parent Volunteer @ Soka Kindergarten : Sep-11

This was the second time SK has asked for parent volunteers. I have indicated interest the first time but was rejected as they must have gotten enough volunteers. So when the school asked a second time, I juz assume they would surely have enough parents, so did not indicate my availability.

I was pleasantly surprised when Miss Lina called up to ask if I could help out. This time, the children were going to visit Giant, in line with their theme for this term - supermarket. My duties include bringing the children to toilet when needed, help to take pictures,
