First to go for a holiday in 2022 after Covid ease : May-22

Qi went for a holiday in US, in New York and Boston to visit her Instagram friend.  She is the first in the family to travel for holiday after Covid ease in Singapore.

Qi got Covid-19 : Feb-22

If someone going to get Covid-19 in the family first, it must be Qi... She was always so out-going, even during this pandemic, and thus, she was our perfect suspect to contact the infamous virus.  

Thankfully, on her day 1,  she was still responsible enough to conduct a self-test when she felt some discomfort in her throat when she woke up.  The outcome wasn't easy for her to swallow thou.

While the recommended protocol said that one could go out when tested negative on the third day, Qi was not that lucky.. It took her a good seven days to fully recover.  Fortunately no one else was infected because of her.

Chinese New Year Pineapple tarts 黄梨挞 : Jan-22

Mama's pineapple tarts are the only pineapple tarts that I will eat... mainly coz they are specially customise for me, without any butter.  However not only me, but everyone in the family will look forward to this delicacy every Chinese New Year, because they just taste so damn good.... and Mama, no matter how tired or busy will never miss "delivering" them to us with love...

Qi first merchandise : Jan-22

It was relieving to see how Qi managed adversities in life positively.  After she was hit by the negative news in Oct, her videos constantly also received negative comments by her 'haters'.  Instead of being pulled down this negativity, she came out with a brilliant idea to tap on her hater's comment and designed her first merchandise!  How this would sell out did not really matters at all, it was the fighting spirit which mattered the most.

Qi Birthday : Nov-21

Simple celebration during Qi birthday this year, at least up to 5 people from the same household can dine together now, so we went to a Korea BBQ recommended by Qi. 

Qi all over the news : Oct-21

 Due to a post in TikTok, Qi was on every Singapore news in Oct-2021.  Personally, I felt she did the right things after her initial intent went differently from what she anticipated.  However that did not stop the keyboard warriors and media to pick it up and make it as their headline. 

At certain point in time as a social media influencer , I thought such occurrence would be quite common and sometime inevitable.  What is more important is for the influencer to better strengthen one's ability to manage and face such adversities. Within the family, we held our values to always respect and not causing harm to others, as such, I was glad that Qi tried to revert the situation once she knew it was going the wrong way.  I believed that everyone will make some mistakes in their life, the key is to learn and grow strongly after the mistake, isn't it?

Qi Commencement Ceremony : Oct-21

After four good years of studying, Qi attended her commencement ceremony on 16-Oct-2021, which officially concluded her graduation from NUS.  This ceremony had been postponed several times due to the changing Convid situation, initially planned in July which required every attendees to conduct a PCR test prior to the ceremony.  In this case, we can attend as long as we're vaccinated.  The number of receiving students in each session were also limited to avoid overcrowding which I felt was good.  I remembered during my convocation, it was quite boring to sit there for hours waiting for the long list to be completed.  

As parents, we are of course very happy that Qi able to graduate successfully and moved to her next phase in life.  We even made a tiktok together that day! Now, one responsibility down now, two to go. 

Qi appeared on advertisement board : Apr-21

 It started off as a casual TikTok post during our staycation with no actual intention or fund in realising it.  It was properly the power of the social media which then mirculously made things happened for Qi.  Even we wouldn't believe that the media company would be kind enough to grant her wish and feature her on their billboard, but they actually did for a good 3 hours!  Qi was ecstatic about it and we were amazed too.  Continue to dream... Nothing is impossible... :-)
