Enen's Papaya Tree by 公公 : Oct-11

Their 公公 definitely has green fingers, and ever since Qiqi's time when we shifted over two papaya plants that outgrew our pots, Papa has also started to take care of our trees as well as grow new ones. He named them as Qiqi's papaya tree, Xuanxuan's papaya tree, and Enen's papaya tree.

This most recent Enen's papaya tree has been doing Papa very proud with its big luscious leaves and big fruits. This tree certainly looked very cute and healthy with big fruits for such a short tree! We can't wait for the papayas to ripen.. hope it's as sweet as it looks!! (^_^)

First fruit from our papaya tree : May-09

After planting our papaya tree at Mummy's place for more than a year, we are ready to taste her first fruit. Xuan is especially delighted to harvest this fruit as she had planted this papaya tree and has been monitoring her growth closely over the past one year.

Surprisingly the fruit is seedless and is extremely sweet and tasty. Each of us get to taste a bit of the 'meat' and it tastes like those Hawaiian papaya.

Update on papaya tree: 26-Jan-08

Our papaya tree has flowers!! 2 flowers to be exact.. Xuanxuan was so excited about it.. "that means we'll have our own papayas to eat very soon!" As i was wonderin aloud if our papaya would be sweet, Xuanxuan insisted that they will as "the seed was taken from a very sweet papaya," she recalled.

Yummy.. hope the birds & the ants won't beat us to the fruit..

Update on papaya tree : Mar-09

It has been more than 1/2 a year since we last updated on the papaya tree we planted at Mummy's place. It has grown almost double to height of Xuan Xuan now and meanwhile, it's busy bearing two papaya fruits. Hopefully in another 1/2 year we will have the chance to taste it's fruit... :-)

Xuanxuan & her migrant papaya plant : Jan-08

Qiqi & Xuanxuan planted this little tree from a seed in a papaya we ate after dinner more than a year ago. As the plant grew in the flower pot outside our flat, their Papa decided that it's time to give the plant more space to grow if we want it flower & grow fruit.

Hence, the 15-cm skinny little plant was 'secretly' put into the soils of Sturdee View under the veil of the night in Nov'06.

Although still fruitless, this little papaya tree has grown to be even taller than Xuanxuan!

This papaya tree which we planted more than 2 years ago had been working so hard. It is now almost 3 times taller than Xuan and the tree is full of fruits! And all these happen when Xuan decided to give the tiny seed a chance to 'revive'.

Looking at how this tree grows, I thought it is so similar to our lives. If we constantly start to take small positive steps in life, it would definitely make us a person of great value in the long run. Don't you think so? :-)

Papaya tree is doing well, you can see that a small tiny fruit is bearing... Papa is helping us to maintain the tree, he had juz cleared off some branches from the tree...

The papaya tree we had planted at mummy's place had grown much taller than Xuan Xuan now.
