There will be many moments in our life where we need to say 'good-bye'... This month, after more than 2 years, we have to say good-bye to our dear Tini (mummy's maid). She is finally returning home after working aboard alone for such long time.
We are happy for her, at least she is now returning to her husband and her 12-years old son, and with a little more money for a better life. We always felt it is not easy being a maid, physically and mentally, it is draining for any human being. From a maid perspective, just imagine how you would like to be constrained by the employers, stayed apart from family, do things under instructions, receive complaints one-way, no friends to talk to, no place to express your feelings and I am just naming a few... That's probably one of the reason why we din get one until now.
Among all the maids mummy had, Tini is very special to us. One of the main reason is 'coz she is the maid who took care of Ah-Jia until her last days. It must also be Ah-Jia's good fortune to have Tini before she passed away. I guessed no one in the family would dare to claim that they have done more in taking care of Ah-Jia (during her last days) than Tini. Despite that, Tini always put up her cheerful side and will try to make Ah-Jia feels at ease and happy. She will massage Ah-Jia for long hours and sometimes even, scold Ah-Jia if Ah-Jia is being 'naughty'. We are also very appreciative that Tini took up her 'part-time' job to clean our house once or twice a month. In the morning our kind sister will shuttler Tini to our place, and by evening when we are back, our house will be clean and tidy, our clothes washed and ironed, toilets scrupped... Tini is like a Supergirl to us, she could do so many things in a day while we think we'll need a week.
Despite the various physical and mental stress a maid needs to undergo, Tini is a person with big big heart and demostrates true human revolution in her life... I thought we could learn so many things from her. We wish Tini the very best in her life... someday, I hope we could meet again.
