Last year we had Mother's day dinner together with Ah-Jia, this year for Father's day, we are doing similar. Papa has requested that this dinner will be his treat, a bit funny for him to pay for this Father's day dinner but since he insisted, we obliged... :P
I volunteered myself to book the Qian Xi restaurant at Farrer Park with private room & Karaoke and there we are, enjoying our food and singing along happily, even En'en loves singing.

En'en first time on the swing : Jun-09
En'en is starting to enjoy the playground items more and more... This time round at Punggol Park, she had her first try on the swing. It is amazing to see how she sits and holds on so well on it, a gifted playful talent she has in her blood... maybe in ours too. :P
Update on Brinjal Plant : Jun-09
Earlier this week, Aunty Nancy's brinjal plant bloomed its first flower since arrival! We have been speculating for a while when we saw tiny bud-like sprouts on its stem - whether they are leaves or will they become flowers.. Well, one of them bloomed!! :) Now I know, brinjal flower will close its bloom at night only to bloom again the next morning..
First flower..
This morning however, the much-awaited fruit from a withered first flower did not appear. Instead, the flower just dropped off.. :`(
Then we caught sight of an even more beautiful second flower!! Hopefully this beautiful flower will hang on more securely onto its stem and eventually bear fruit..

Our Super Duper Fruity Lunch : Jun-09
After running an errand, it was almost too late for breakfast. To make it up to the girls, we acceded to their request of an unhealthy and tasty McDonalds' breakfast.. no, it was almost a brunch. So after lunchtime when we became hungry again, we decided to have a most healthy late lunch which will not upset our appetite for dinner - a super duper fruity lunch buffet!
Xuanxuan didn't believe initially that one can become full from eating fruits, but we all did! Though the spread did not look plentiful, there were plenty of leftover for a healthy supper.. ;)

Make-over for Gals' room : Jun-09
Since painting the master bedroom and the living room for almost two years, the gals especially Qiqi have been pestering me to paint their room as well. So I have promised the gals to paint and re-decorate their room in this June Holidays. After making all the preparation, we finally started the painting and managed to complete most of the work in a morning. Qiqi and Xuanxuan are excited about their newly 'renovated' room, especially with the new cosy corner and a new radio set and fan.

Our Parents' Photos : Jun-09
Everyone was young and beautiful once, even if you cannot imagine some to be so. While youthfulness is typically celebrated, we should also as much appreciate and celebrate the life and experiences the matured and elderly have gone through.
The jaded photos below were the prized possessions of our parents - priceless! We reckon that they will only remain kept treasures in some dusty drawers if we do not share them here, so what the heck; here you are - our parents in their youth!! Do you recognize them? Do we look like them? ;)

Tini returns home : Jun-09
There will be many moments in our life where we need to say 'good-bye'... This month, after more than 2 years, we have to say good-bye to our dear Tini (mummy's maid). She is finally returning home after working aboard alone for such long time.
We are happy for her, at least she is now returning to her husband and her 12-years old son, and with a little more money for a better life. We always felt it is not easy being a maid, physically and mentally, it is draining for any human being. From a maid perspective, just imagine how you would like to be constrained by the employers, stayed apart from family, do things under instructions, receive complaints one-way, no friends to talk to, no place to express your feelings and I am just naming a few... That's probably one of the reason why we din get one until now.
Among all the maids mummy had, Tini is very special to us. One of the main reason is 'coz she is the maid who took care of Ah-Jia until her last days. It must also be Ah-Jia's good fortune to have Tini before she passed away. I guessed no one in the family would dare to claim that they have done more in taking care of Ah-Jia (during her last days) than Tini. Despite that, Tini always put up her cheerful side and will try to make Ah-Jia feels at ease and happy. She will massage Ah-Jia for long hours and sometimes even, scold Ah-Jia if Ah-Jia is being 'naughty'. We are also very appreciative that Tini took up her 'part-time' job to clean our house once or twice a month. In the morning our kind sister will shuttler Tini to our place, and by evening when we are back, our house will be clean and tidy, our clothes washed and ironed, toilets scrupped... Tini is like a Supergirl to us, she could do so many things in a day while we think we'll need a week.
Despite the various physical and mental stress a maid needs to undergo, Tini is a person with big big heart and demostrates true human revolution in her life... I thought we could learn so many things from her. We wish Tini the very best in her life... someday, I hope we could meet again.

Stone walking : Jun-09
We were out at Punggol park one evening and decided to try out stone walking which was supposed to improve blood circulation. We took off our shoes and readily started our new adventure. We thought it would be easy, but the process was so painful and we could hardly walk well. Xuan was the only person who did better, probably due to her weight and small feet surface area.
I heard someone said before that if you felt pain while walking on the stones, then some parts of your body may not be too good... bullshit lor, i bet any normal individual who walk on these sharp stones will scream with pain normally like us.

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star - Indian Style : Jun-09
While downloading some nursery songs from YouTube for En'en, I found this Twinkle Twinkle in the Indian Style... Extremely entertaining and best of all, En'en enjoys every single moment of it, so do everyone of us.

Powerful virus attacks again! : Jun-09
I had started this family blog in beginning of 2008 when all our ladies in the house were down with fever, link. This year, the actual scenario happens again and all ladies were "simultaneously" attacked by the "lady only" virus again... come to think of it, with a bit of patience, the fever and virus will normally subside on the 3rd day... Zhenjie is always so kind and compassionate to take in En'en these two nights while the ladies recuperate.
23-May-09 - 25-May-09 - Started with En'en!
En'en suddenly got high fever with a bit of cough.
02-Jun-09 - 04-Jun-09 - Qiqi got it!
Qiqi started to have high fever and we noticed that she is starting to get a bit of allergy from taking Panadol. So we stick on to Chinese medicine.
03-Jun-09 - Xuan and ling got it!
Every lady in the family got the fever now... with bad throat and cough as bonuses... Xuan is taking Panadol together with Chinese medicine while Shin Yang has to solely rely on Chinese medicine.
