First fruit from our papaya tree : May-09

http://shinykoh.blogspot.com/search?q=papaya

After planting our papaya tree at Mummy's place for more than a year, we are ready to taste her first fruit. Xuan is especially delighted to harvest this fruit as she had planted this papaya tree and has been monitoring her growth closely over the past one year.

Surprisingly the fruit is seedless and is extremely sweet and tasty. Each of us get to taste a bit of the 'meat' and it tastes like those Hawaiian papaya.

2009 : Xuan teaching Enen Elmo song : May-2020

Looking at these old videos now really warmed my heart.

En'en had a fantastic time.. without us : May-09

Enen's babysitter, Zhen-jie, and her girls' bridgade brought 2 young tods, Enen and Megan, out for shopping and play at Vivo City. See how the 2 good friends played and enjoyed each other's company! They were especially thrilled at the fountain where they had the best water play together ever! ;)

New Addition to Our Plants : May-09

Look at this B-I-G brinjal plant! Well, well.. although it is not really mature, it is a big plant as compared to all our other broccoli, ginger, brinjal, logan, pineapple & stevia seedlings.. ;P

This was contributed by Aunty Nancy, who is not only a fantastic and adventurous cook, but one who likes to grow her own food too! Hmm.. I should really take a leaf out of her book! For the time being, I just hope that I have enough of her green fingers to keep the brinjal plant alive and to bear fruit!

Bed Curtains : May-09

I am on half day leave today and we decided to pop-by Ikea for shopping. Qiqi and Xuanxuan have always requested for a "mosquito" net for their bed and so we decided to buy a few items to make them happy. I start by fixing Xuanxuan's bed curtain, it is a great success and Xuanxuan is extremely excited about sleeping with the curtains. Then comes Qiqi's turn... as Qiqi sleeps on the upper deck of the bed, the net simply can't fix well to cover her bed. After multiple attempts, we give up... the net is with us NOW instead... hahaha... But i did promise Qiqi to fix her curtains up during the June Holidays.

Mother's day : May-09

For mother's day this year, we have streamboat at mummy's place. With the help of Ah Hong, Qiqi and Xuanxuan, bouquets of flowers are made for all the mothers who are present... Mummy, mama, Shin Yang, Godma and Tini... Total of 5. I am especially proud of Shin Yang, not only 'coz she's always a great mum and wife but also on this occasion, she has personally made cards for Mama and Mummy to express her thanks to them... I am always weaker in expressing such gratitudes, something which i could learn abit more from her.

After weeks of watching the same CD over and over again, En'en has successfully learnt her first song, 小小猪. She can sing it in normal or fast beat, so adorable.

Swine Flu stepping up : May-09

As the Swine Flu is starting to spread across the globe, Singapore is starting to take precautious step to ensure this flu could be controlled in case it really spreads to this small country.

Personally I feel it's the right thing to do, consider the scary history of flu pandemics.

Gandhi King Ikeda : May-09

"A Legacy of Building Peace" Three men, from three different cultures and continents, sharing the same common path of profound dedication and achievementin improving the lives of all people. The exhibit features colorful photos, inspiring quotes, and factual information about Mohandas K. Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr. and Daisaku Ikeda. Amidst chaotic times, they sought to forge an existence filled with dignity, freedom and happiness. Building Peace Without Violence

The Gandhi-King-Ikeda exhibit is a internationally renowned exhibit extolling humanist virtues and its champions. Though Gandhi, King and Ikeda each came from different ethnic and religious backgrounds, they have all shared a common vision. They have each, in their respective lifetimes, fought for non-violence, human rights and world peace: Mohandas K. Gandhi led the campaign against the colonial rule of the British Empire, Martin Luther King fought against the injustices and prejudice built against people of color in America, and Daisaku Ikeda encourages millions of civilians in the world to live a life of dignity and to work for world peace.

Gandhi, King, and Ikeda are men who have lived with principle, and who have based their action on non-violent means. The unique idea of having the three figures together as an exhibit is of particular significance because it reminds us that peace and justice exist beyond all human-laid boundaries.
