法不自弘, 人弘法故, 人法共尊. : Mar-08

Even the greatest Buddhism is unable to propagate by itself, and it is through us, human beings, that Buddhism can be propagated.

That was why Shakamuyi spent 49 years propagating his 84,000 sutras to as many parts of India as possible in his lifetime. Shakamuyi eventually preached the Lotus Sutra in his last 8 years to all levels of disciples, indicating that it is only through the Lotus Sutra (法华经) that one is able to attain Buddhahood in his or her present lifetime. When preaching the Lotus Sutra, Shakamuyi also knew the importance of his disciples to continue preaching this law after his passing. This was why he had asked for many Lotus Sutra votaries during his preaching.

Nichiren also stressed the importance of our mission as his disciples, to propagate the king of all sutras, the Lotus Sutra, to as many people as possible, so as to relieve people from suffering, and to gain happiness and attain Buddhahood.
As the fundamentals of practicing Buddhism, is for one's happiness as well as others' happiness, by propagating the true Buddhism, one will inevitably accumulate great benefits and good fortune, not only for oneself but also for one's entire family.
