It was a Sunday morning and we need to rush for a En'en assignment on sign boards. We decided to make a quick trip down to Punggol park to take a few shots of the boards and also the gals.

Qiqi Gym Routine : Apr-12
After more than a year of practice, Qiqi instructor has suggested her to participate a competition in June this year. Qiqi is more or less fully trained in her rope, ball and ribbon routine, but probably requires more time to boost up the strength in controlling the accuracy and provides a good sense of elegance. This is proud to see her putting effort and achieving some goals in her life, I hope she will be able to apply this across many aspects in her life too.

WDFD Part I - Kickoff : Apr-12
Little WDFD kickoff booklet for all my WDs .. |
Every single of the 6-pages booklet - done with much pride! |
Back to the "STRANGELY" part, I must say it all began in March this year as the sunshine auntys were preparing our P5 lion cubs for the P5 camp.. As I saw for myself once again how just 2 or 3 training sessions for a dance actually pulled and bonded the children much closer together, I began toying with the idea of doing the same for my WDs..
After confirmation that this year's WDFD will be of the same format as last year's, I began to explore with Hong to see if his schedule can somehow fit as without a dance instructor, I cannot carry out my idea at all! I was damn thrilled when he agreed to help me out!! *\(^_^)/* This was to be my first concrete victory for my WDFD.
With a concrete plan to bond my WDs closer, I began to ask around how others engage their members for their WDFD preparations. Plagiarizing from these Best-Practices ideas, I put together this little 6-pages booklet and a presentation for my kickoff with my district WD members. Among the brilliant ideas gathered, I thought the best of the best has got to be getting all my members to play host for this WDFD meeting, and all preparation work become platforms for us to work together as a district to welcome our new friends whom we invite to join us in our WDFD celebratory meeting!! Another extremely brilliant one was for each of us to bring along a personal victory for this meeting. "Bring a friend & bring a victory." (^_^)
I courageously set targets to achieve for this WDFD. One of which was for Sharon to share her experience with my WD members during my WDFD. Another was for all my WDs to participate in the dance performance.
Although I've been asking Sharon to share her wonderful journey of faith since the beginning of this year, I haven't been very successful because her hero had some concerns. After some prayers, I mustered courage to ask Sharon again. This time she was willing but my WDFD meeting might clash head-on with hers as she had juz been promoted to a district leader and her meeting timing was exactly the same as mine. NOT giving up, I told her not to reject me so soon but to "let's chant for it to happen." That was exactly what both of us did.. As I was toying with the idea of changing the date of my WDFD, Sharon confirmed that her WDFD would be held one week earlier than mine!! Gosh, i was absolutely overjoyed and overwhelmed at the power of determination and daimoku!! That was my second concrete victory for my WDFD.

Testing Out Vic's New Toy @MBS : Apr-12
Inevitably, the best looking one is always the youngest. Guess at that tender young age when they are least inhibited, the expressions they wear are genuine, hence beautiful!
so fortunate to find this slightly shady spot for a pic! |
it's really very hot & sunny!! |
En can hardly open her eyes & Qi has to shield her head with her jacket!? |
Xuan is the bravest in front of the camera under the scorching sun! |
it's supposed to be juz victor & me! .. until this strange one barge in! |
my angels cum monsters !! |
the gals' camera face! hahaa.. |
the naughtiest one! |
beautiful, isn't it? |
a different perspective.. the gals' perspective! |
the gals' free & easy time -- 自拍! |
seldom the father gets captured in the picture; he's usually behind the camera.. |
the real reason for our trip to MBS !! |
En'en Sick For More Than A Week : Apr-12
En had been sick and coughing more than a week. She visited the sinseh twice with Rik and also missed a few days of school.
Playing with Rik while waiting at the sinseh's ..
All in all, it had been an awful week. Now that finally En is recovering, she needs more rest and some sun. Hence, I let her sleep in and brought her out for a walk to get some morning sun.
En loves playing on the see-saw ..

Being the third child : Apr-12
Being the third child, we are much more relaxed and laid back with En. Being in SK instead of childcare, En also spent more time at home. I recently realized that this great responsibility of teaching her lies with me !!.. gotta teach her to read, to write .. Maybe it's juz baby steps, but she's taken an interest in drawing, writing chinese words! (:
K1's first excursion of the year : Apr-12
I think this was K1's first excursion of the year. Neighbourhood was their theme and excursion was to Bedok Central. Three days before the excursion, I received a phone call from En's teacher to ask I could go with them on the excursion as a parent volunteer. Although two days before the P5 Camp was a very hectic time last year when I was in the Event Comm, camp this year was a much more relaxed, even leisurely event; I only had to help out for the main scoreboard the next day, so I happily accepted the teacher's request.
As usual, I would not be tagging along the class of my child, and I was assigned to help out with Gan Eng Seng class, where En's favourite Lucas boy, Caleb and Briyana were! (:
Gan Eng Seng's teacher, Miss Alice, was a rather experienced and confident teacher; she was able to capture the attention of most children most of the time. I had a most enjoyable time with Gan Eng Seng talking to the children, especially during their tea break.. There was even a couple of them who kept talking to me that they almost could not finish their cheese buns! Hahaa..
Similar to most of the children, my favourite time there was at the playground! As it was a pretty big playground with rather high structures, I was quite worried when some GES children wanted to walk the bars up to take the slides as some of them were obviously not confident at all especially nearing the end. So I park myself at the base and took it upon myself to guide and encourage the children to complete their climb.
An obvious advantage to being a parent volunteer despite with a different class, was to be able to catch a lil' of my En in the excusion in the action. En claimed to have seen me at the playground although she never come forward to greet me. Anyway, she would not have the guts to walk up those bar-steps to take the slides.
I managed to take a couple of pictures of En's class.. Oh, i almost forgotten, I actually shared En's seat with Ailing on the bus both ways. So I did bond with En too during this excursion! (:
