Following my business trip to UK in mid Nov, we decided to extend for a short holiday in UK and Europe. We were extremely excited about our first holiday to this part of the world and we even planned to visit our old friend in Amsterdam. Shin Yang flew in to meet me after my meeting ended, and we started our holidays. The weather was cold for our standard and we needed to constantly 'wrapped' ourselves with layers and layers of clothes. But it kind of became an advantage while walking along the streets as we will hardly perspire. We enjoyed the stroll in each city very much and even cycled in Amsterdam. What a good break.

Hougang SAs Get-together : Dec-2011
The Sunshine Auntys started out in PD at the end of 2002, where most of us were transferred directly from the Orchid Young Mrs group. In 2003, we began conducting PD meetings with the lion cubs.. in groups of 2 or 3 Auntys leading a class of about 20 children. December 2011 hence marked the completion of 9 years for the pioneering Auntys in PD..
In Hougang Class 6.. Huili, Kristie, Mary, May, Nancy, Pauline and I (in alphabetical order) began together from day 1 and still together until Dec 2011.
Well, almost day 1 for me too as I was transferred from Tampines back to Hougang before we had our very first PD meeting.. Until Dec 2011 because Kristie has decided to graduate..
Therefore this Hougang SAs get-together is probably the last one organized by our dearest Aunty Kristie.
At this BBQ-steamboat gathering at Kristie's place, we also gathered everyone to pen down some thoughts for Kristie as we were compiling a scrapbook as Kristie's farewell gift. Even our kiddos were busy scribbling & drawing for Aunty Kristie's scrapbook..
Xuan was less than 2 years old when we first started off as SAs, and Audrey, Briyana, Caleb, Rachel and En were not even born yet!!
All these were shots taken by Qi on her new pink cam.. so it's more the children, especially the younger ones and the girls..

Get-together WIth Xianling & Family : Dec-2011
Victor and I last met Xianling and Ella when we were in Amsterdam last month. Victor was completely charmed by Ella.. who in turn also took to Victor. Xianling claimed that Ella does not smile to men except her daddy; Victor proved her wrong!
I guess Xianling's this trip back with Joan and Ella is also to introduce Ella 美恩 to Singapore and all family and friends. On Dec 26, a public holiday in-lieu of Christmas Day, a few of us band friends, together with our not-so-few-by-now family members, met at Xianling's mum's place for a little get-together.

Family Vacation @Sentosa day 2 : Dec-2011
The girls asked for Universal Studio, so that was where we went after breakfast the second day. It was a very hot and sunny day. As compared to many wet and gloomy days in December, I thought we had a pretty good deal. The downside was that we were tired out by mid afternoon and did not even stayed back to watch the fireworks. In fact, we missed out quite a fair bit considering the attractions that day lasted till 9pm. Anyway, we had a good fun day.. (^_^)
Qiqi and Xuanxuan had at least one go at most of the rides, and even twice at some. Xuan turned out to be more gutsy than Qi.. All of us except for En took the Human roller coaster; Xuan took it a second time as she offered to ride together with her Pa. Victor and I also took the more adventurous Cylon roller coaster. Boy, it sure was very fun!! Juz a pity my body did not quite agree with my mind, or else we would be sure to ride it a second time. Enen also took her very first roller coaster - Enchanted Airways. Fortunately she was still alright on the ride but she cried after we got down from the platform! ;P she must have been traumatized!!

Family Vacation @Sentosa day 1 : Dec-2011
Going overseas, family vacation is so common nowadays that doing without one seems quite out-of-this-world. Possibly so that the children will not feel out of place amongst their peers, and also a way to focus some of the children's energy during their school holidays, we have to plan one.. and to have one.
It had been almost one and a half years since we last went Universal Studio and the Festival Hotel. Since our Malacca trip fell through due to some flooding there, we decided that we shall return to Sentosa once more. We had initially thought of giving USS a miss as we have gone there at least twice before, but the girls insisted on returning there for the exciting roller coaster rides which were not opened yet the last time, as well as the new Transformer rides. Haiz.. i was reminded of how those Barney and Hi-5 CDs kept being played and replayed over and over again until every single piece was spoiled.. So, the girls still enjoyed tried and tested fun as compared to novelty of trying out new things.
Luge & Skyride
The Luge is kind of like the go-cart and toboggan.. All of us were able to have our own rides except for Enen, who could only ride in my Luge. It was tremendous fun and excitement as we gained control of our luge and even overtook one another along the short trail. Xuanxuan was so good and fast at it that she easily had all of us behind her before we decided to play catch up! En was rather scared initially but only for a short while.. hahahaa!!
As the Luge was a downslope ride and whatever went down has to come up, the skyride was the means to bring us up again for our second luge ride as well as for us to continue our Sentosa adventure where we stopped.. The skyride not only brought people up, the luges were also transported up in the same way!! Check it out on the vid below..

Elsewhere at Sentosa and Viviocity
We were pleasantly surprised as we checked into our room at Hotel Michael - the room was rather spacious with two almost-queen-sized beds; we did not have to request for additional bed! As the hotel also provided us with five 48-hour monorail passes, we easily decided to spend the other half of the afternoon and that evening at Viviocity, where we caught a movie and had dinner. The girls were very impressed at the Marche Restaurant where they got to pick and queue for what they wanted to eat for dinner. Nevertheless, when given the choice to make decisions, they do not always know what they want! (^_-)

Enen's 'Tweety Bird' Makeover : Dec-2011
Enen's Zhenjie-mama bought two sets of outfits each from Tweety Bird for Enen and Megan. Hence both Enen and Megan were eligible to take part in a Tweenty Bird makeover photography contest. Zhenjie had booked Enen's time on a Saturday afternoon two weeks beforehand.
Well, these were the pictures taken on that day.. Zhenjie said although Enen was very willing to pose, her hairdo was quite awful; although Megan's hair was styled much nicer, but Megan did not like her hair. Anyway, it was not easy to get the duo to pose for the pictures!!
Upside was Enen got to spend that day and night with babyhood friend Megan! \(^_^)/
