Running within the Koh family, is our characteristic of having grey hair. The funny thing about this family gene is that only the male family members will have the 'good fortune' to inherit it.
And so, 4 hair cuts after my last dye, i was able to reveal all my grey hair i have. My recent decision in not dyeing my hair stirred many interesting responses among friends and family. Some have asked me why i had chosen to look so old when i'm not; some have admired my 'ash' color hair; some just stared so long at my hair before they asked "what happened?"; some like the 'fashion'; some encouraged me for not using the dye chemical; my hair-dresser commented "i doubt you could endure this for long", and another hair-dresser friend even seems very keen to immediately 'soaked' my head into pail of color.
Anyway, i feel fun about this little initiative because i am able to observe the variety of perspectives people could have over a single thing. To me, dyeing back my hair is just an hour job and i could do almost anytime i like, but to be able to observe so many responses? Like mastercard says, "Priceless".

大姨丈's 76th Birthday : Aug-09
We were glad to be invited to celebrate 姨丈's 76th birthday over this weekend. 大姨and大姨丈are a amazing couple. They have 6 children whom all got married, so 6x2=12; and from there the numbers kept increasing... so it's a good 2+12+2+2+3+2+3+2=28! Not only is the number great, their family bond is even more impressive. This so wonderful to see such lovely family all together celebrating and we're lucky to be a part of them in joining the fun.
Action City's Advertisements : Aug-09
Qi and Xuan are excited watching these advertisements starring their uncle. Xuan especially enjoys her uncle's facial expressions and has kept asking me to watch them.

Xuan Xuan's Birthday ~ 18th Aug : Aug-09
Our dearest Xuan Xuan had turned eight. This year, she had En'en to stay by her side all the way... while singing the song, blowing the candles, cutting the cake, opening the presents...
Xuan had also requested for multiple presents so that she could open piece by piece days before her birthday arrived. We had tried our best to make her day an enjoyable one, everything worth for this sweet and hardworking princess.
Mummy's Birthday ~ 13th Aug : Aug-09
Mummy turned 63 this month and we celebrated with the usual birthday cake. What is unusual this year is that we have bought her a chocolate cake - a deep brown very chocolatey-looking chocolate cake!
Mummy has been a very good girl after the doctor discovered cancer again in her lymph nodes on her neck three months after her mastectomy. She has completely abstained from eating cancer-aggravating food, and in fact all her usual food to stop her cancer from spreading. This chocolate cake was also to encourage her to stay that way as she had a very unpleasant experience with chocolate cakes and since then has never eaten another chocolate cake!!?

My "Karma" : Aug-09
Toothache must be one of the most terrible and frequent illness i encounter so far in my life. It must be my past Karma to keep me suffering. Last year alone, i had been to visit the dentist for close to 20 times... This year is a bit better, so far, just about 4 to 5 times. This weekend, severe pain occurred again and as a result, i had got another 2 molars determined to have cracked and had to be extracted.
I had since accepted this as my Karma and personal challenge, I resolve to perform my human revolution and transform this Karma of mine... :-)

En'en's Territory : Aug-09
If you wanna witness En'en possessive character and what she would do to protect her own 'Territory', WATCH this!
National Day Celebration : Aug-09
Today is Singapore's 44th birthday, and birthdays should be celebrated right? After Enen's morning nap and lunch, we set off most garbed in national-day colour in search of a manner to enjoy and fully utilize the holiday!
So despite the scorching sun and relentless heat, we made our way to a beach with playground - Pasir Ris Park. It was Enen's second time to the park and Victor was sure all the girls would enjoy it! Hahaa.. a father sure understands his daughters well.. Enen was running all over the playground while Qiqi and Xuanxuan also had height-appropriate stations to entertain them while they take a break from playing with their baby sister.
A very healthy way indeed to get our dosage of Vitamin D! ;)

My first lunch box : Aug-09
Recently i was reading on a nutrition book titled "The China Study", a great book which provided me extreme insight on how harmful are animal proteins and dairy products to our human bodies. In fact, the author provides numerous studies and surveys to prove the multiple illness due to intake of meat and dairy.
While reading halfway, i causually made a remark to Shin Yang that i'll like to try having vegetarian for lunch since now that my breakfast is already fruits only. Shin Yang, being such a wonderful wife, had since being thinking how to prepare lunch for me and 'ta-la', my very first lunch box in my life.
Although it was a little too much for my first lunch box, it was delicious and i was resolved to continue this diet, at least for my health.

En'en searching for Papa : Aug-09
Little En'en seems to be very confident that I will always be behind her as she wandered around the bookstore in search of her papa..
Xuan met up with her favourite author : Aug-09
Following The Diary of A Wimpy Kid, the girls found another appealing diary-form book - The Diary of Amos Lee, written by local author Adeline Foo. They enjoyed the book a lot and I thought they may find it cool to meet with the author who would do a reading at the Popular @ Compass Point today. I have never attended a reading by the author herself, and was looking forward to it myself.. :P Unexpectedly, there was no crowd.. juz the usual weekend crowd at Popular.. Adeline has 3 children and is the head of corporate affairs in a government agency. She was approached by MITA to write a book for Singapore children currently living in London.
Our Little Tweenie : Aug-09
Since February this year, Xuanxuan has been attending weekly Brownie meetings. Although she is not officially a Brownie yet, this little Tweenie (refers to an un-inducted Brownie i think..) has been very excited since she bought her uniform during the June hols.
Today she wore her Brownie uniform for the first time. It is also her first external Brownie event - National Day Observation Day at the Hougang CC.
Xuanxuan makes such a sweet and adorable Tweenie, doesn't she?
